The Metropolitan State College Cycling team is cranking its way into our 3rd year of competition in the Rocky Mountain Conference of the National Collegiate Cycling Association. Our young team has had strong results with riders taking high rankings in the conference against much larger and more established teams. Our goal is to take advantage of our strong beginnings at the individual level and translate this success into a strong team that will compete against the best teams in the nation.
The Metro State Cycling team is unique in the conference as we are attempting to build a multi-institutional cycling team. We are uniting The Community College of Denver, University of Colorado at Denver and The Metropolitan State College into one functioning team. These three institutions share the Auraria Campus, located in the heart of Downtown Denver. and have a unique agreement for building strong inter institutional bonds.
Because of this cooperation we have the ability to take part in building a great collegiate cycling community for the Denver- Metro area. Since our inception in the spring of 2006 we have been offering social rides, skill clinics, and training rides for cyclist of all abilities. We are actively taking part in the Rocky Mountain Conference, where we host our Metro time trial race at Bear Creek State Park to further establish our place among other teams in our conference.
